Do you ever find it difficult to believe something you can’t see?

It’s easy to think, if I see it, I’ll believe it. But today’s passage helps us understand how we can love and trust Jesus, even though we don’t see Him. We can have faith without sight.

Bible Focus

1 Peter 1:8-9 “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

Devotional Thoughts

Peter is writing to believers who had never seen Jesus in person. Even though they couldn’t see Him, they still loved Him and believed in Him. They had experienced the power of the gospel, and because of that, they were filled with a deep and lasting joy.

Followers of Jesus are called to live this way too. We may not see the physical body of Jesus, but we can see the results of what He has done, is doing, and the sure hope of what He will do in the future.

When we put our faith in Him, He gives us real joy. This joy doesn’t come from everything being easy, but from belonging to Him and walking with Him each day.
