Waiting for the Best Gift
Titus 2:13 – “Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Our stockings are already hanging. We can see them. We know what they’re for. And it makes us want to open them right now. How do I know this? Because my kids ask to look inside every morning. But Christmas isn’t here yet. We have to wait.
Waiting is hard, especially when something good is coming. Did you know that God’s people waited a very long time for Jesus to be born? They trusted God’s promise even when they couldn’t see how or when it would happen.
And here’s something amazing: we are still a waiting people today. Just like they waited for Jesus to come the first time, we are now waiting for Jesus to come again and make all things right forever. Christmas reminds us that God always keeps His promises!
Discussion Questions:
Why is it hard to wait for something we really want?
What are you waiting for right now that feels hard?
How long did God’s people wait for Jesus?
What does waiting teach us about trusting God?
How can we honor Jesus while we’re waiting for Christmas Day?
Coloring Page Activity

Family Prayer
God, thank You for keeping Your promise to send Jesus. Waiting is hard for us, but we want to trust You just like Your people learned to trust You. Help us be patient, grateful, and full of joy as we wait to celebrate Jesus’ birth. Amen.
