Welcome to this week’s Parent-Driven Discussion, where we’ll discuss the excitement that comes with springtime!
If you’re like me, you’re always looking for thoughtful questions to spark meaningful conversations with your kids. A good discussion builds a connection and guides your children on their discipleship journey. This week’s focus is on the excitement and opportunities that come with springtime. Use these questions during family devotions, at the dinner table, or whenever you’re gathered together.
Spring is a season of fresh starts. After months of bare trees and cold days, the world begins to wake up again—buds appear, birds sing, and gardens start to grow. It’s the perfect time to remember that God is always at work bringing life and growth, both outside and in our hearts. Just like a garden needs good soil to thrive, our hearts need to be soft, open, and ready to receive God’s Word. As we notice signs of spring, let’s ask God to help our hearts be like good soil—ready to hear His truth, hold on to it, and grow in faith.
Discussion Questions: Spring
1. What changes do you notice happening outside as spring arrives?
2. What spring activities are you most excited about and why?
3. If you could plant anything you wanted this spring, what would you choose and why?
4. Plants grow in the spring with the right conditions–sunlight, rain, and soil. We have no control over the sunlight and rain, but we can work on the soil to make sure it has the right conditions for the plants to grow.
Luke 8:15 “As for the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.”
What does it mean for our hearts to be like “good soil” for God’s Word?
Family Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank you for the time we spent studying Your Word and discussing the excitement of new opportunities in springtime. We need eyes to see needs, courage, and most of all, your Holy Spirit to give us strength. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
