If you’re like me, you’re always looking for thoughtful questions to spark meaningful conversations with your kids. A good discussion builds a connection and guides your children on their discipleship journey. This week’s focus is on putting your faith into action. Use these questions during family devotions, at the dinner table, or whenever you’re gathered together.

Bible Focus

James 2:17So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

Living out your faith isn’t just about what we believe–it’s about what we do because we believe it! In James 2:17, we’re taught that genuine faith shows up in our actions. Especially in how we love and serve others. This week’s Parent Driven Discussion is all about helping our kids see that following Jesus means more than words. Following Jesus means showing His love through the way we live every day.

Discussion Questions

  1. What does it mean to have faith in God?

2. What’s the difference between just saying you believe something versus actually living like you believe it?

3. Was there a time this week when you said you believed something, but didn’t act like it?

4. Can you think of a time when you showed your love for someone by doing something kind?

5. What is one way we can live out our faith this week?

Family Prayer

Jesus, thank you for showing us what real love looks like. Help us demonstrate to others what we believe through our words and actions. Give us eyes to see the needs all around us, soft hearts that are ready to act, and courage to live out our faith. Thank you, Lord. Amen

Try This

Kindness Mission – Work together as a family to identify someone–maybe a neighbor, teacher, grandparent, friend at church–who could use some encouragement. Pass the note around and give each family member a chance to write a note or draw a picture to show kindness to that person. Figure out a plan to deliver the letter!
